How can Christian ministries accomplish together what they could never achieve alone? That question was at the heart of a recent webinar organized by the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) Children’s Network, bringing together leaders from across Europe to share practical lessons in collaboration for the sake of children, youth and families.
The webinar, Together for the Next Generation, featured Harry Bryans (Reaching Europe’s Children), Richard Procter (World Without Orphans Europe), Joe Haya (OneHope Europe), and Alan Charter, who serves with both the WEA Children’s Network and the Global Children’s Forum. Together, they reflected on years of partnership across ministries and organizations, highlighting how trust, shared vision and long-term relationships have enabled greater impact than any single organization could achieve independently.
Speakers shared examples of collaborative initiatives across Europe, including the growth of the Reaching Europe’s Children network, joint research in Albania that strengthened churches’ care for vulnerable children, and the development of shared resources such as MAX7, now available in more than 180 languages. They emphasized that meaningful collaboration requires patience, humility and a willingness to prioritize God’s kingdom over organizational interests.
The discussion also explored how ministries can better disciple Generation Z and Generation Alpha, encouraging churches to move beyond entertainment toward authentic relationships, active discipleship and empowering young people to participate fully in the life and mission of the Church. Panelists stressed that children and young people are not only the future of the Church but an essential part of its present ministry.
Closing the webinar, Charter challenged participants to consider whom God might be calling them to partner with in their own communities. Using the image of people gathering around a shared well rather than working within isolated boundaries, he encouraged leaders to pursue kingdom-minded collaboration that enables the next generation to flourish in Christ.
